Set up your phone Insert the SIM card and set up your phone Your SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card contains information on your wireless account. Depending on your wireless service provider, this information might include your phone number and voicemail access number. You can also store contact information on your SIM card (see Use SIM Toolkit. To make calls or use your phone’s email or web features, you need to insert a SIM card. If you don’t have a SIM card, contact your wireless service provider. To take advantage of the high-speed data connection available on your phone, you may need to have a 3G SIM card.
