AWGN - Noise Generator
The value range of this parameter is automatically adjusted depending on the selected
instrument. The maximum ratio minimum noise bandwidth to system bandwidth is determinate
by the max sample clock of the selected instrument and is calculated so that the
overall bandwidth, i.e. "System BW" x "Minimum Noise"/"System BW Ratio" has to be
less or equal to the sampling rate of the selected instrument.
Remote command:
[:SOURce]:AWGN:BWIDth:RATio on page 204
Noise Bandwidth - AWGN
(Additive Noise and Noise Only)
Indicates the real noise bandwidth. The value is indicated when AWGN state is "On".
Note: The noise signal is not generated arbitrarily for a particular bandwidth, but instead
it is generated in steps. Noise therefore also occurs outside the set system bandwidth.
The noise bandwidth can not exceed the sampling rate of the baseband signal since white
Gaussian noise is generated and added offline to the baseband signal. In case of "Noise
Only" mode, the noise bandwidth is also determined by and can not exceed the sampling
rate set with the parameter "Sample Rate".
Remote command:
Target CW Frequency - AWGN
(CW Interferer mode only)
Sets the desired frequency of the sine in "CW Interferer" mode.
The range of this parameter is limited to ± ("Symbol Rate" + "Sample Rate")/4
Remote command:
[:SOURce]:AWGN:FREQuency:TARGet on page 206
Resulting CW Frequency - AWGN
(CW Interferer mode only)
Indication of the actual CW frequency of the sinusoidal signal in "CW Interferer" mode.
The resulting CW Frequency Offset is the correction of the desired value based on generating
an integer multiple of periods out of the output sequence length.
Remote command:
[:SOURce]:AWGN:FREQuency:RESult? on page 205
5.11.1.2 Noise Power Configuration And Output Results
The interfering signal is configured in the "Noise/Interferer Power Configuration and Output
Results" section.
Set Power via - AWGN
(Additive Noise only)
Selects the mode for setting the noise power.
