3 Installation of R&S WinIQSIM2 Software
R&S WinIQSIM2 is delivered in the latest version available on the R&S WinIQIM2 CD-
ROM. Software updates as well as the Release Notes describing the improvements and
modifications are provided on the Internet at the download site of the Rohde&Schwarz
home page. This home page always offers the latest information on your R&S WinIQSIM2
as well as the signal generator software, e.g., also on changes of the software update
procedure.
To uninstall and to install R&S WinIQSIM2, the following hardware and software requirements
have to be met.
Software Requirements
One of the following operating systems:
● Windows XP SP2
● Windows Vista
● Window 7
National Instruments (NI) VISA version
3.4.1 or higher (optional)
or
Agilent VISA version 14 or higher
(optional)
R&S WinIQSIM2 has to be installed on one of the supported operating
systems.
Note:
Any other Windows version or other operating systems are not supported.
During installation, the operation system is checked.
The installation will be terminated if this requirement is not fulfilled.
VISA driver is usually bundled with a GPIB (IEC/IEEE)-bus card from
National Instruments (NI) or Agilent. If none of these cards is used,
there is the option to perform data transmission via TCP/IP connection
over LAN.
Drivers can be obtained from R&S or NI directly.

Virtual Memory
VGA color display resolution
GPIB (IEC/IEEE)-bus card (optional)
At least Pentium or compatible, as from 1 GHz (recommended).
At least 1GB.
During installation the virtual memory is checked. The installation
will be terminated if this requirement is not fulfilled.
At least 800*600 pixels
From National Instruments or Agilent.
R&S WinIQSIM2 Software
The R&S WinIQSIM2 software consists of the file WinIQSIM2_.exe.
The version numbers in the file names vary with each update.
