The Status <strong>of</strong> Blind Persons' Repot <strong>of</strong> The Prophet's Hadith<br />

ABSTRACT: The status <strong>of</strong> blind persons' repot <strong>of</strong> prophet's Hadith is<br />
an important topic for Hadith scholars. The discussions <strong>of</strong> this topic<br />
are scattered in different parts <strong>of</strong> bools. The present paper collects and<br />
classifies <strong>the</strong>se discussions and comments <strong>the</strong>m.<br />
It has been established that blind persons' report <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
Prophet's Hadith is accepted when <strong>the</strong> condition <strong>of</strong> reporting <strong>the</strong><br />
Hadith applied on people are have full sight and are known to be just<br />
and exact, are met. Arguments in support <strong>of</strong> this view have been<br />
discussed to discredit <strong>the</strong> view that blind cannot report <strong>the</strong> Prophet's<br />
Hadith. The paper focuses on <strong>the</strong> following topics:<br />
1. The conditions <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> report as states by <strong>the</strong> Hadith scholars.<br />
2. The ststus <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> blind person' as accepted by Hadith scholars.<br />
3. The detailed arguments concerning <strong>the</strong> blind persons' report in<br />
relation to <strong>the</strong> "exact wording" which vary form one blind<br />
person to ano<strong>the</strong>r due to personal abilities and psychological<br />
state.
