CITY OF NORMANThe final component <strong>of</strong> these planned capital improvements is the expansion <strong>of</strong> the SewerUtility’s treatment capacity, to an ultimate capacity <strong>of</strong> 21.5 million gallons per day. TheWastewater Master Plan anticipates an additional 5 MGD to be constructed at the existing SouthCanadian Water Reclamation Treatment Plant and 4.5 MGD to be constructed at a Little Riverbasin site which has been purchased by the Utility. Preliminary phases (engineering design,environmental impact studies, etc.) <strong>of</strong> this treatment expansion began at the South Canadian plant infiscal year 2010-2011 with funding from the Wastewater Fund (sewer rate payers), remainingSewer Sales Tax proceeds, and sewer excise tax on new development. Construction <strong>of</strong> thetreatment plant expansion will require an adjustment to the Utility’s rate structure (note: the <strong>Norman</strong><strong>City</strong> Charter requires voter approval <strong>of</strong> increases to utility rates and is scheduled to begin in 2013).The Water Reclamation Utility will also begin <strong>prelim</strong>inary engineering design and environmentalstudies toward development <strong>of</strong> the Little River Water Reclamation Facility during <strong>FYE</strong> 20<strong>14</strong>.ANNUAL BUDGET90
