Monies to be used as the development further impacts the municipality.INFILTRATION – Groundwater that enters into the sanitary sewer through defects in the pipes andmanholes such as cracks, separated joints, deteriorated manhole components, building foundation drains,and defective service laterals.INFLOW – Surface stormwater that enters into the sanitary sewer through direct sources such as ventedmanhole covers, downspouts, area drains, and uncapped cleanouts.INTERCEPTOR – Sanitary sewer interceptors are those lines that convey sewage from neighborhood toneighborhood in route to the wastewater treatment plant.
