All buildings were sourced within the greater Sydney area.In each audit, a variety of methods were used to determine water consumption insubcategories, including a significant use of water submetering. The generalcharacteristics of the audit sample are listed in Table 3Table 3: Key characteristics of the water audit sample___________________________________________Item Median___________________________________________Net Lettable Area (office) 22,613 m²Water Use 1.509 kl/m²% consumption – cooling towers 27%% consumption – amenities 35%% consumption – irrigation 0%% consumption – retail 4%% consumption – baseflow/leakage 31%% consumption – other 2%___________________________________________The median water consumption end-use breakdown is also illustrated in Figures 2and 3.175
