<strong>The</strong>me B: Creating a livable, healthy and environmentally viable citiesLeisure<strong>The</strong> survey found that, with regard to their satisfaction with the use of leisure insemi-public spaces and complexes, residents in super high-rise mixed-use housingshowed higher levels than those in ordinary multi-family housing, and T-testindicated a significance in all categories. It was also found that residents in superhigh-rise mixed-use housing used their leisure through semi-public spaces, andenjoyed shopping and cultures. <strong>The</strong>y showed the lowest level with regard to theirsatisfaction with self development, but the figure was higher than an average,suggesting that semi-public spaces in super high-rise mixed-use housing areeffective in residents using their leisure.Meanwhile, residents in ordinary multi-family housing had far less levels of usingtheir leisure, having opportunities for self-development, and enjoying shoppingand cultural life in the complexes, compared with those in super high-rise mixedusehousing, and showed lower levels of satisfaction an average, suggesting thatfacilities in ordinary multi-family housing complexes very much need to beexpanded.An analysis, which was conducted with residents’ occupancy time and floor areacontrolled, found that its results were similar to those of the analysis of all cases,proving that, with regard to residents’ use of leisure, the function of semi-publicspaces in super high-rise multi-housing complexes is superior.562
