Ana Teberosky, Pr<strong>of</strong>essor at the University <strong>of</strong> Barcelona, teaches subjects<br />

related to oral and written language acquisition. She also teaches “the procedures<br />

and canons <strong>of</strong> scientific and academic communication” <strong>in</strong> post-graduate<br />

studies. She has carried out research deal<strong>in</strong>g with these subjects, published <strong>in</strong><br />

books and scientific articles.<br />

Chris Thaiss is Clark Kerr Presidential Chair and Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>in</strong> the University<br />

<strong>Writ<strong>in</strong>g</strong> Program at the University <strong>of</strong> California, Davis (US), where he is also<br />

a faculty member <strong>of</strong> the Graduate Group <strong>in</strong> Education and its concentration <strong>in</strong><br />

Language, Literacy, and Culture. He teaches undergraduate courses <strong>in</strong> science<br />

writ<strong>in</strong>g and bus<strong>in</strong>ess/technical writ<strong>in</strong>g; graduate teach<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>cludes composition<br />

theory/pedagogy/research and writ<strong>in</strong>g program adm<strong>in</strong>istration. Author, co-author,<br />

or editor <strong>of</strong> twelve books, his most recent are WAC for the New Millennium<br />

(with S. McLeod, E. Miraglia, and M. Soven) and Engaged Writers and Dynamic<br />

Discipl<strong>in</strong>es: Research on the <strong>Academic</strong> <strong>Writ<strong>in</strong>g</strong> Life (with T. Zawacki). His current<br />

research <strong>in</strong>cludes the International WAC/WID Mapp<strong>in</strong>g Project and a study <strong>of</strong><br />

student writ<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> large-enrollment classes.<br />

Dilek Tokay coord<strong>in</strong>ates the Sabanci University (Turkey) <strong>Writ<strong>in</strong>g</strong> Center<br />

and its Undergraduate Program; at Sabanci s<strong>in</strong>ce 1999, she worked at the Middle<br />

East Technical University (1970-1983) and Bosphorus University (1983-<br />

1999) as <strong>in</strong>structor, academic director, curriculum designer, materials producer,<br />

and teacher tra<strong>in</strong>er. She was Chair <strong>of</strong> the European <strong>Writ<strong>in</strong>g</strong> Centers Association,<br />

2005-2007.<br />

Associate Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>in</strong> the Department <strong>of</strong> Rhetoric, <strong>Writ<strong>in</strong>g</strong>, and Communications<br />

at the University <strong>of</strong> W<strong>in</strong>nipeg (Canada), Brian Turner teaches rhetorical<br />

criticism, rhetorical theory, and environmental writ<strong>in</strong>g. He and Judith Kearns<br />

have co-authored several articles, the latest <strong>of</strong> them a rhetorical study <strong>of</strong> Globe and<br />

Mail columnist Christie Blatchford for the Canadian Journal <strong>of</strong> Communication.<br />

Jonathan Worley is Senior Lecturer <strong>in</strong> Written Communications and <strong>Writ<strong>in</strong>g</strong><br />

Centre Director for Sa<strong>in</strong>t Mary’s University College, Belfast. He has degrees<br />

<strong>in</strong> English literature from the University <strong>of</strong> New Hampshire and Rutgers University<br />

and has been teach<strong>in</strong>g both literature and academic writ<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> Northern<br />

Ireland s<strong>in</strong>ce 1992.<br />

Wu Dan received her PhD from Clemson University <strong>in</strong> 2010 and returned<br />

to Ch<strong>in</strong>a. She is now Dean <strong>of</strong> Humboldt College at Xi’an International Studies<br />

University and teaches <strong>in</strong> the School <strong>of</strong> English Studies. Her research <strong>in</strong>terests<br />

<strong>in</strong>clude the <strong>in</strong>ternationalization <strong>of</strong> WAC, second language writ<strong>in</strong>g, and higher<br />

education political culture.<br />
