local woodworking wisdom
and techniques of skilled local
builders.
Wood is ...
With softness originating from
nature, once brought out, wood
requires regular maintenance
by human hands. Whether
intentional or not, it introduces
the idea of ordinariness to
architecture. It uncovers what
has, until recently, been blindly
handled behind—a tangible
plot between nature, humans,
technology, time, and cycles in
a single project.
Time Passages
Rath Plean-suk has
transformed three old rice
barns into a collection of
buildings, ‘Atelier VELA’,
featuring exhibition spaces
and recreational areas that
reflect an entwined dialogue
between architecture and its
surroundings.
