Ghotmeh’s work was frequently referred to as “Archaeology of the Future” due to the fact that it created new architecture based on relics of the past. Her previous projects include the Estonian National Museum, which was awarded the 2016 Grand Prix Afex, and the Mies Van Der Rohe Award nominee in 2017. Her most recent project, the Ateliers Hermès in Normandy, was constructed with over 500,000 locally made bricks. The studio also designed the Stone Garden Apartment, which was partially damaged by a devastating chemical explosion at Beirut’s harbor in 2020. Ghotmeh’s architecture is renowned for its emphasis on ecology and sustainability, aesthetics derived from a close relationship with nature, and expression of the material’s essence.
