Rethinking Flexibility: A Lecture by Joshua Ramus<br />

Joshua Ramus เริ่มต้นการบรรยายด้วยการกล่าวถึง<br />
Flexbility โดยอธิบายว่า “ความยืดหยุ่น-Flexibility” เป็น<br />
พื้นฐานของการออกแบบสถาปัตยกรรมของเขา ท่ามกลาง<br />
กระแสสังคมที่พูดถึงเรื่องความยั่งยืน (sustainability)<br />
การลด Carbon footprint การนำาวัสดุต่างๆ กลับมาใช้<br />
การออกแบบที่มี Flexibility จะเป็นคำาตอบสำาหรับงาน<br />
ดีไซน์ที่ต้องการ จะแก้ปัญหาในอนาคต Joshua ยังได้ตั้ง<br />
ข้อสังเกตอีกว่า “ในสังคมนักออกแบบ การนำาไอเดียการ<br />
ออกแบบอันชาญฉลาด และมีประสิทธิภาพ (Intellectual<br />
Ideas) เดิมกลับมาใช้ซ้ำา ไม่ต่างจากการที่นักออกแบบ<br />
ต้องการที่จะพัฒนาผลงาน ให้มีความสวยงาม และสุนทรียะ<br />
เพิ่มมากขึ้นเรื่อยๆ (Beauty of Aesthetic) หากแต่เมื่อ<br />
มองถึงวิธีการเดียวกันจากมุมมอง เชิงปรัชญาและเหตุผล<br />
การนำาแนวคิดเดิมกลับมาใช้ซ้ำาไปซ้ำามากลับกลายเป็นการ<br />
ไม่พัฒนา หรือไม่สร้างสรรค์ ให้เกิดแนวคิดใหม่ๆ ซึ่งชุด<br />
ความคิดอย่างหลังถูกฝังรากลึกอยู่ในความเชื่อของวิชาชีพ<br />
สถาปนิก เนื้อหาการบรรยายในครั้งนี้จึงต้องการแสดงให้<br />
เห็นถึงวิธีการนำาแก่นความคิดกลับมาใช้ซ้ำา ในบริบทที่<br />
ต่างออกไป ในภาษาอังกฤษ ใช้ศัพท์เรียก วิธีดังกล่าวว่า<br />
‘Recycling’ แต่สำาหรับ REX นั้น ใช้คำาว่า ‘Re-evolve’<br />
โดย Joshua แบ่งเป็นการบรรยายตามแนวความคิด ของ<br />
เขาออกเป็น 4 หัวข้อหลัก ดังต่อไปนี้<br />
Joshua Ramus begins his lecture by mentioning<br />
Flexbility, explaining that Flexibility is fundamental<br />
to his architectural design. Among the social<br />
trends that talk about sustainability, reducing carbon<br />
footprints, reusing materials, and designing<br />
with Flexibility will be the answers to designing to<br />
solve problems in the future. Joshua also noted,<br />
“In the designer society Implementing smart design<br />
ideas and efficient intellectual ideas is used<br />
repeatedly, just as designers need to develop<br />
the beauty of aesthetics. But when looking at the<br />
same method from the point of view of philosophy<br />
and rationality, reusing the same idea over and<br />
over again has turned out to be undeveloped or<br />
not creative, giving rise to new ideas. The latter<br />
set of ideas is deeply rooted in the beliefs of the<br />
architects. The content of this lecture would like to<br />
show how to reuse the essence of ideas. In a different<br />
context. This method is known as Recycling<br />
in English, but REX employs the term Re-evolve.<br />
According to his conceptions, Joshua divided the<br />
lecture’s content into four major sections.<br />
