A collection of charming, dark-colored wooden<br />
buildings beautifully adorns the picturesque<br />
landscape, extending a warm invitation to visitors.<br />
The structures create a pleasing contrast with<br />
the white walls and the black and white woven<br />
pattern. The alternating, angled series of laths<br />
cast delightful shadows, while the blue aquatic<br />
mass of the pool makes its presence known. Rows<br />
and rows of coconut trees add to the idyllic scene,<br />
leading to a stunning curved beach on Samui<br />
Island. All of these exist as parts of Kimpton Kitalay<br />
Samui, setting this beachfront resort apart from<br />
other establishments ubiquitous in this tropical<br />
paradise.<br />

The project’s design was initially completed<br />
and underwent a construction phase before all<br />
operations came to a halt. The project was later<br />
resumed, with Habita Architects assigned as the<br />
new design team that would be working on a<br />
completely new brief. This involved redesigning<br />
the project in various aspects, including legal<br />
constraints, area plan design, the number and<br />
sizes of the rooms and buildings, as well as the<br />
design concept and choice of building materials.
