Presets<br />

Use the Presets section of the Extended Features menu to:<br />

• Turn the Patient Query feature on or off<br />

• Select the Patient Size so that the ventilator settings and Extended Features menu settings<br />

are adjusted to accommodate the type of patient (infant, pediatric or adult)<br />

Turning Patient Query on or off<br />

1) After entering the Extended Features menu, turn the Set Value knob until PRESETS is<br />

displayed and press the Select button.<br />

2) Turn the Set Value knob until PTNT QUERY is displayed, press the Select button and either<br />

QUERY ON or QUERY OFF is displayed.<br />

3) Turn the Set Value knob until the desired setting is displayed and press the Select button.<br />

If QUERY ON is selected, when the ventilator is next powered up and passes POST,<br />

ventilation and alarm activation are suspended and the message SAME PATIENT is<br />

displayed.<br />

• To enable the suspended alarms and begin ventilation with the settings in use during<br />

the last power cycle, press the Select button while SAME PATIENT is displayed<br />

OR<br />

• To enable the suspended alarms and begin ventilation with Presets values<br />

appropriate for a new patient, turn the Set Value knob until NEW PATIENT is<br />

displayed and press the Select button. Then turn the Set Value knob until the<br />

desired patient type is displayed (INFANT, PEDIATRIC or ADULT) and press the<br />

Select button<br />

• Turning the Set Value knob until EXIT is displayed and pressing the Select<br />

button returns the ventilator to the SAME PATIENT menu option/message<br />

If no controls are activated for three (3) seconds while either the SAME PATIENT or NEW<br />

PATIENT options are being displayed, an audible alert sounds. Activation of any control<br />

resets the 3 second delay of the audible alert.<br />

If QUERY OFF is selected, when the ventilator is powered up and passes POST, it will begin<br />

ventilation (appropriate alarms enabled) using the settings in use during the last power cycle.<br />

Selecting Patient Size<br />

1) After entering the Extended Features menu, turn the Set Value knob until PRESETS is<br />

displayed.<br />

2) Press the Select button.<br />

3) Turn the Set Value knob until PATIENT SIZE is displayed and press the Select button.<br />

4) Turn the Set Value knob until the desired patient type is displayed (INFANT, PEDIATRIC or<br />

ADULT) and press the Select button to set the Presets values appropriate for the patient<br />

type selected.<br />
