Power and Battery Operation<br />
Problem Possible Causes What To Do<br />
The ventilator does<br />
not power up.<br />
Vent Inop LED is on<br />
and ventilator is not<br />
ventilating.<br />
The ventilator doesn’t<br />
operate from external<br />
power.<br />
The ventilator does<br />
not operate from<br />
internal battery.<br />
The ventilator shuts<br />
off when external<br />
power is removed.<br />
Faulty power<br />
connection, AC power<br />
source or adapter and<br />
depleted internal<br />
battery.<br />
Internal problem with<br />
the ventilator.<br />
Verify the power cord for the AC adapter is fully<br />
seated. Connect the ventilator to a verified<br />
source of AC power. Allow the internal battery to<br />
charge a minimum of 8 hours.<br />
Immediately contact a certified Pulmonetic<br />
Systems’ service technician.<br />
Vent in Standby. After the vent has been turned off and the<br />
external power is reconnected, the Vent Inop<br />
LED is lit. This is normal. Push the On/Standby<br />
button to turn ventilator on.<br />
Ventilator was running<br />
on internal battery and<br />
battery became<br />
depleted.<br />
Connect the ventilator to a good external power<br />
source.<br />
Vent Inop. Power up the vent and check the EVENT<br />
TRACE for events indicating the reason for inop.<br />

event trace.<br />
Internal problem with<br />
the ventilator.<br />
Defective AC source.<br />
AC adapter power cord<br />
loose.<br />
Immediately contact a certified Pulmonetic<br />
Systems’ service technician.<br />
Make sure the AC adapter is securely plugged<br />
into a verified source of AC power and is<br />
securely connected to the ventilator. Verify the<br />
power cord for the adapter is fully seated.<br />
Defective AC adapter. Replace the AC adapter.<br />
Internal problem with<br />
the ventilator.<br />
Internal battery<br />
depleted.<br />
Internal problem with<br />
the ventilator.<br />
Immediately contact a certified Pulmonetic<br />
Systems’ service technician.<br />
If the internal battery is depleted, charge the<br />
internal battery for 8 hours by connecting the<br />
external AC adapter and plugging it into a good<br />
AC source.<br />
Immediately contact a certified Pulmonetic<br />
Systems’ service technician.<br />
