System (ICS), ICS-100; IS-200.b, ICS for Single Resources<br />

and Initial Action Incidents, ICS-200; IS-700.a, National<br />

Incident <strong>Management</strong> System (NIMS), An Introduction;<br />

and IS-800.b, National Response Framework (NRF), An<br />

Introduction.<br />

<strong>Course</strong> Length: 2 days<br />

fEma Incident action planning (E/l/b825)<br />

This course provides participants with the knowledge<br />

and skills to apply the phases of the Incident<br />

Action Planning process effectively when assigned<br />

to a Joint Field Office (JFO) during an incident<br />

requiring FEMA assistance. This is a performancedbased<br />

course where the attendees participate in<br />

meetings during a Planning “P” Operational Period<br />

and critique components of an Incident Action Plan.<br />

Selection Criteria: The target audience is for any<br />

Planning Section Unit Leader or above and is strongly<br />

recommended for all other Command and General<br />

Staff members. In addition, the following ICS positions<br />

are encouraged to attend:<br />

• Operational Branch Director and/or Division/<br />

Group Supervisor (DIVS)<br />

• Chief of Staff (COS)<br />

• State Coordinating Officer (SCO)<br />

• Liaison Officer (LOFR)<br />

• External Affairs – e.g., Public information Officer<br />

(PIO)<br />

• Communications Unit Leader (COML)<br />

• Finance Section Chief (FSC)<br />

• Logistics Section Chief (LSC)<br />

Hurricane liaison team (Hlt) (l990)<br />

This training is for individuals assigned to the<br />

Hurricane Liaison Team (HLT) that works at the<br />

National Hurricane Center (NHC) to support pre-<br />

and post-hurricane events.<br />

Selection Criteria: FEMA personnel from Regions<br />

(Permanent Full-Time (PFT) employees, Cadre of<br />

On-call Response Employees (CORE), and Disaster<br />

Reservists) who are training in specific knowledge<br />

and skills required to get the HLT operational within<br />

the NHC structure.<br />

<strong>Course</strong> Length: 3 days<br />
