Master Trainer Practicum Workshop<br />

(E609)<br />

The Master Trainer Practicum Workshop is the culminating<br />

activity of the Master Trainer Program. It is not a<br />

course, but it involves an individual project in which<br />

the participant is responsible for conducting a performance<br />

and needs analysis aimed at enhancing some<br />

area of emergency management. Under the supervision<br />

of a mentor, the participant will then design,<br />

develop, deliver, and evaluate a training activity to<br />

meet those needs.<br />

Selection Criteria: The Master Trainer Practicum Workshop is<br />

available only to those individuals who have been<br />

accepted and have had their Practicum proposal<br />

approved.<br />

Prerequisites:<br />

Required: Participants must complete E601,<br />

<strong>Management</strong> and Supervision of Training, and E602,<br />

Performance and Needs Analysis, before submitting a<br />

Practicum proposal for approval. Upon approval<br />

of the proposal, the participant will be notified<br />

and assigned a mentor. Together the mentor and<br />

participant will prepare a review plan for completion<br />

of the Practicum.<br />

National Training and Exercise Conference<br />

Roundtable (E236)<br />

This activity is designed to provide State and select<br />

<strong>Federal</strong> representatives an opportunity to research<br />

and identify topics and speakers for the annual<br />

National Training and Exercise Conference (E237).<br />

Selection Criteria: Participation is limited to State<br />

<strong>Emergency</strong> <strong>Management</strong> and Administrative Agency<br />

Training and Exercise Officers. In even-numbered<br />

years, the participants are taken from FEMA’s evennumbered<br />

Regions, and vice versa in odd-numbered<br />

years. <strong>Federal</strong> participation is limited to FEMA’s<br />

Regional Training Managers, Regional Exercise<br />

Officers, and FEMA Headquarters training and exercise<br />

program staff.<br />

<strong>Course</strong> Length: 2½ days<br />

National Training and Exercise Conference<br />

(E237)<br />

This annual conference highlights new FEMA training<br />

and exercise initiatives and State best practices related<br />

to emergency management training and exercises.<br />

Selection Criteria: Participation is limited to State<br />

<strong>Emergency</strong> <strong>Management</strong> and Administrative Agency<br />

Training and Exercise Officers and Tribal officials.<br />

<strong>Federal</strong> participation by FEMA’s Regional Training<br />

Managers, Regional Exercise Officers, Regional<br />

National Incident <strong>Management</strong> System (NIMS)<br />

Points of Contact, and FEMA Headquarters training<br />

and exercise program staff is encouraged. Others<br />

may be admitted as space is available.<br />
