This is an advanced leadership course designed to<br />
increase the management and supervision skills of<br />
the agency’s aspiring leaders at the GS-11 through<br />
GS-13 levels. The course will address the importance<br />
of building trust; effective communication<br />
and coaching; creating and sustaining high performance<br />
teams; and becoming a visionary leader.<br />
Selection Criteria: PFT employees in grades GS<br />
11/12/13. CORE employees may attend on a spaceavailable<br />
basis.<br />

Leadership Skills for Emerging Leaders<br />
(E533)<br />
This course is an intermediate leadership course<br />
designed for employees seeking opportunities to<br />
take on new leadership roles. The course will provide<br />
an understanding of the leadership competencies<br />
necessary for advancing to the next level. The course<br />
will address the importance of building trust; effective<br />
communication; improving team effectiveness;<br />
and understanding your organization’s vision and<br />
the role you play.<br />
Selection Criteria: PFT employees in grades GS 10 and<br />
below. CORE employees may attend on a spaceavailable<br />

This course is designed to provide participants with<br />
the knowledge and skills to deliver an oral presentation<br />
with confidence, writing effectively to ensure<br />
audience understanding and an overall professional<br />
presence. It provides tools and techniques in the<br />
areas of incoming/outgoing communication to<br />
determine a win-win outcome for internal/external<br />
customers; resolving and responding to difficult<br />
customer issues; effectively responding to specific<br />
behaviors that can damage customer relations; and<br />
avoiding break-downs in the service process.<br />
Selection Criteria: PFT employees in grades GS-10 and<br />

Achieving Effective Results and Teamwork<br />
(E535)<br />
This course covers the requirements for effective and<br />
increased productivity in the workplace; projecting<br />
leadership and self-confidence; and managing work<br />
hours effectively. Participants learn how to analyze<br />
and organize tasks and chart a course of action and<br />
measure results. Through awareness, participants are<br />
taught to understand the value of utilizing technology,<br />
networking, and systems that increase work<br />
productivity. Participants identify important qualities<br />
and effective leadership traits needed in order<br />
to be successful in the workplace and beyond.<br />
Participants are provided strategies and techniques<br />
for becoming effective team members.<br />
