Guide to Points of Distribution (IS-26)<br />

This guide was developed to support the Points of<br />

Distribution (POD) overview video and provide an<br />

in-depth look into the planning, operations, and<br />

demobilization stages of a POD mission. The lessons<br />

detail the staffing and procedures any State will need<br />

to plan for, execute, and shut down POD operations.<br />

The guide also includes key lessons such as<br />

safety, equipment, and resources accountability<br />

and informs the reader about the “Adopt a POD”<br />

program being used by the State of Washington.<br />

Orientation to FEMA Logistics (IS-27)<br />

This course provides an overview of all field Logistics<br />

functions and organizational relationships within<br />

Logistics (roles, responsibilities, accountability).<br />

The participant will gain a baseline knowledge of<br />

the standard practices for FEMA Logistics operations<br />

from initial Presidential disaster declaration to<br />

closeout of FEMA field offices.<br />

Selection Criteria: All new Logistics hires and Logistics<br />

staff that work in the field offices. Also, all FEMA<br />

cadres, governmental (State, local, Tribal), and<br />

private sector partners who interface with FEMA<br />

Logistics during disaster response and recovery.<br />

Prerequisites:<br />

Recommended: IS-26, Guide to Points of Distribution.<br />

Mitigation eGrants for the Subgrant<br />

Applicant (IS-30)<br />

This interactive computer-based course is designed<br />

to provide subgrant applicants with basic knowledge<br />

about using the web-based Mitigation<br />

Electronic Grants (eGrants) <strong>Management</strong> System. A<br />

part of the eGovernment initiative, eGrants streamlines<br />

the application process by providing local<br />

governments the ability to apply for and manage<br />

their subgrant applications over the Internet. This<br />

course is designed to allow the individual to take<br />

it in its entirety or to focus on specific aspects of<br />

the Mitigation eGrants System. The course examines<br />

registering for access to the eGrants System;<br />

creating, completing, and submitting subgrant<br />

applications to the Grant Applicants; and managing<br />

submitted applications. Participants will also learn<br />

how to describe the eGrants system function, users,<br />

and subgrant application process; log in and out of<br />

eGrants; navigate and access Help within the eGrants<br />

system; create a subgrant application; describe each<br />

subgrant application section; provide, update, and<br />

revoke access to a subgrant application; complete<br />

and submit a subgrant application; and manage<br />

previously submitted subgrant applications.<br />

(IS-31)<br />

This interactive computer-based course is designed<br />

to provide grant applicants with basic knowledge<br />

about using the web-based Mitigation Electronic<br />

Grants (eGrants) <strong>Management</strong> System. A part of<br />

the eGovernment initiative, eGrants streamlines the<br />

application process by providing grant applicants<br />

the ability to apply for and manage their grant applications<br />

over the Internet. This course is designed<br />

to allow the individual to take it in its entirety<br />

or to focus on specific aspects of the Mitigation<br />

eGrants System. The course examines registering for<br />

access to the eGrants System; managing subapplicant<br />

user registrations; completing and submitting<br />

grant application; and managing submitted grant<br />
