NIMS ICS All-Hazards Position-Specific:<br />

Safety Officer (SOFR) <strong>Course</strong> Train-the-<br />

Trainer (TTT) (E955)<br />

This course is designed to provide local- and<br />

State-level emergency responders with a robust<br />

understanding of the duties, responsibilities, and<br />

capabilities of an effective Safety Officer (SOFR)<br />

on an All-Hazards Incident <strong>Management</strong> Team<br />

(AHIMT). These responsibilities fall into two categories:<br />

1) responding to the incident and the safety<br />

needs of the incident, and 2) effectively fulfilling the<br />

position responsibilities of an SOFR on an AHIMT.<br />

Exercises, simulations, discussions, and a final exam<br />

enable participants to process and apply their new<br />

knowledge.<br />

Selection Criteria: NIMS ICS All-Hazards Position-<br />

Specific training should be completed by personnel<br />

who are regularly assigned to functional, support,<br />

or unit leader positions on United States Fire<br />

Administration (USFA) or other Type III AHIMTs.<br />

Prerequisites:<br />

Required: ICS-300, Intermediate Incident Command<br />

System (ICS) for Expanding Incidents; ICS-400, Advanced<br />

Incident Command System (ICS), Command and General<br />

Staff—Complex Incidents; IS-100.b, Introduction to the<br />

Incident Command System (ICS), ICS-100; IS-200.b,<br />

Incident Command System (ICS) for Single Resources and<br />

Initial Action Incidents, ICS-200; IS-700.a, National<br />

Incident <strong>Management</strong> System (NIMS), An Introduction; and<br />

IS-800.b, National Response Framework (NRF),<br />

Liaison Officer (LOFR) <strong>Course</strong> Train-the-<br />

Trainer (TTT) (E957)<br />

This course is designed to provide local- and<br />

State-level emergency responders with a robust<br />

understanding of the duties, responsibilities, and<br />

capabilities of an effective LOFR on an All-Hazards<br />

Incident <strong>Management</strong> Team (AHIMT). Exercises,<br />

simulations, discussions, and a final exam enable<br />

participants to process and apply their new<br />

knowledge.<br />
