(IA) program and activities that help individuals and<br />

Implementing the <strong>Emergency</strong> Food and<br />

Shelter National Board Program (IS-420)<br />

This course provides an overview of the <strong>Emergency</strong><br />

Food and Shelter National Board Program. It also<br />

instructs potential program participants about the<br />

requirements responsibilities of the program, eligibility<br />

for funding, and participant responsibilities,<br />

as well as the responsibilities of the National Board<br />

and FEMA.<br />

(COOP) Planning for Pandemic Influenzas<br />

(IS-520)<br />

This course introduces participants to the characteristics<br />

of a pandemic influenza, the effects that<br />

a pandemic influenza can have on every facet of<br />

our society, and the steps their organizations can<br />

take to minimize the effects of a pandemic. The<br />

primary audiences for this course are personnel<br />

at any level of government, representatives from<br />

Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), or<br />

representatives from private industry who may have<br />

a need for a basic understanding of pandemic influenza<br />

and the impacts that they can expect should a<br />

widespread pandemic occur in the United States.<br />

Exercising Continuity Plans for Pandemics<br />

(IS-522)<br />

This is a follow-on course to IS-520, Introduction<br />

to Continuity of Operations (COOP) Planning for Pandemic<br />

Influenzas. It includes a brief review of continuity<br />

planning for pandemics and then involves<br />

the participant in a continuity pandemic exercise<br />

(Determined Accord). This course is developed in a<br />

flexible delivery format which allows for classroom<br />

delivery in combination with participants taking<br />

the IS course test either online or in the classroom.<br />

The primary audiences for this course are personnel<br />

at any level of government, representatives from<br />
