Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS),<br />
ICS-100; IS-200.b, Incident Command System (ICS)<br />
for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents, ICS-200;<br />
and IS-700.a, National Incident <strong>Management</strong> System<br />
(NIMS), An Introduction.<br />
2. Served in a mid-level emergency management<br />
or incident response position within 5 years<br />
in real-world incidents, planned events, or<br />
accredited exercises.<br />
3. Recognized qualifications in techniques<br />
of instruction and adult education<br />
methodologies.<br />
Selection Criteria: The target audience includes persons<br />
involved with emergency planning, and response or<br />
recovery efforts.<br />
<strong>Course</strong> Length: Approximately 8 hours for the classroom<br />

This course introduces the Incident Command<br />
System (ICS) and provides the foundation for higher<br />
level ICS training. This course was developed collaboratively<br />
by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration<br />
and the <strong>Emergency</strong> <strong>Management</strong> <strong>Institute</strong>.<br />

Introduction to the Incident Command<br />
System, ICS-100, for <strong>Federal</strong> Workers<br />
(IS-100 .FWa)<br />
This course provides <strong>Federal</strong> Workers a familiarization<br />
with ICS principles, how they can be applied<br />
in incidents, and how to interface with response<br />
personnel. The course has the same objectives as the<br />
IS-100.b, Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS),<br />
ICS-100, course. Additional content has been added to<br />
explain how the ICS principles apply to an incident<br />
that involves <strong>Federal</strong> assistance under the Stafford Act<br />
or National Response Framework. This course meets<br />
the requirement for ICS-100/IS-100 training.<br />

System, ICS-100, for Healthcare/Hospitals<br />
(IS-100 .HCb)<br />
This course introduces the ICS as it applies to the healthcare/hospital<br />
environment and provides the foundation<br />
for higher-level ICS training. This course describes the<br />
history, features and principles, and organizational<br />
structure of the ICS. It also explains the relationship<br />
between ICS and the NIMS. This course uses the<br />
same objectives and content as other ICS courses with<br />
healthcare/hospital examples and exercises.<br />

System, ICS-100, for Higher Education<br />
(IS-100 .HE)<br />
This course introduces the ICS and provides the<br />
foundation for higher-level ICS training. This course<br />
is a comprehensive introduction to ICS tailored for<br />
higher education situations. Case studies, scenarios,<br />
and video clips of people and places that have been<br />
involved in campus emergency planning are integrated<br />
into the course.<br />
