panel taking care not to damage the trim.<br />

Remove the panel and release it from the upper<br />

inner door weatherseal (see illustration).<br />

9 Remove the window regulator handle<br />

packing (see illustration).<br />

10 If necessary peel the protective sheet from<br />

the door (see illustration). The trim clips are<br />

fitted over the sheet - it will be necessary to<br />

cut round them to prevent tearing the sheet.<br />

Refitting<br />

11 Refitting is a reversal of removal.<br />

Exterior handle<br />

Removal<br />

1 Open the door and unscrew the single<br />

screw securing the handle to the rear edge of<br />

the door (see illustration).<br />

2 Using a small screwdriver lever the plastic<br />

strip insert from the exterior door handle (see<br />

illustration).<br />

3 Remove the cross-head screw and<br />

withdraw the exterior handle from the door<br />

(see illustrations). Note: The handle is not<br />

connected directly with the door lock.<br />

Refitting<br />

4 Refitting is a reversal of removal, but check<br />

the sealing gasket and fit a new one if<br />

necessary.<br />

5 Remove the trim panel, locking knob and<br />

protective sheeting (refer to Section 13) then<br />

remove the packing from around the inner<br />

knob must also be unscrewed from the<br />

control rod before removing the door lock.<br />

6 Using a screwdriver release the inner door<br />

handle from the door inner panel, then unhook<br />

it from the control rod (see illustrations).<br />
