Whether you visit your potential investments in person, or just
make a call to the investor relations department, always find out
about top management before buying shares in a company. These
people are your partners, and how they act will determine whether
you make or lose money in both the long and the short term. Make
sure they have integrity and are “doers,” not “bluffers.”
After becoming a shareholder, don’t be afraid to contact the people
in charge if you fear the company is moving in the wrong direction.
Of course, if you don’t own many shares, you may not get through
to the CEO. But, at the very least, an investor relations executive
should be willing to talk with you.
