P.E Teachers’ pr<strong>of</strong>ile <strong>and</strong> provided action plan for P.E teachers training.<br />
Monitored 102 secondary schools from 40 districts on the teaching <strong>of</strong> Physical <strong>Education</strong>.<br />
Surveyed schools for establishment <strong>of</strong> PES Website.<br />
(xiv) Build capacity for PES personnel.<br />
In FY 2011/12, in a bid to improve the competences <strong>of</strong> PES personnel, the subsector:<br />
Facilitated Modern Endurance training workshops during which 105 lecturers <strong>and</strong> coaches<br />
from national federations were trained;<br />
Trained twenty (20) Kids Athletics instructors;<br />
Trained 605 primary schools teachers, 40 PTC tutors, 200 students teachers in Kids Athletics in<br />
2012.<br />
Trained 12 Athletics Coaches in Electronic Timer <strong>and</strong> Wind Speed Measurement.<br />
With support from ADB IV Project trained (50) Games Teachers in central Ug<strong>and</strong>a in Football<br />
coaching.<br />
Sent two (2) PES personnel (1 Administrator <strong>and</strong> 1 Lecturer) to undergo training in community<br />
sports administration in New Delhi, India.<br />
Sent one (1) lecturer to be trained in Karate in China.<br />

Organized <strong>and</strong> participated in workshops, seminars locally <strong>and</strong> internationally.<br />
During the period under review the subsector:<br />
Finalized the Pr<strong>of</strong>ile <strong>of</strong> a modern PES teacher;<br />
Facilitated staff participation in AFAHPERSD Conference in Mukono; <strong>and</strong>,<br />
Participated in WADA <strong>Education</strong> Initiative on doping in South Africa.<br />
Facilitated with training <strong>of</strong> DEOs, DIS’ <strong>of</strong> Wakiso district <strong>and</strong> head teachers, teachers, <strong>and</strong><br />
students <strong>of</strong> five (5) secondary schools, <strong>and</strong> five (5) primary schools in Wakiso district.<br />

Organized <strong>and</strong> facilitated <strong>Education</strong>al Institutions National <strong>Sports</strong> Championships.<br />
In FY 2011/12 the subsector:<br />
Developed new units for qualifying primary schools pupils to compete in Kids Athletics<br />
under12 years <strong>and</strong> under14 year’s category.<br />
Introduced the first ever Kids Athletics Competition for Primary Schools pupils;<br />
Facilitated <strong>and</strong> organized the first ever in world, Kids Athletics National Championship for<br />
Primary schools pupils;<br />
Facilitated <strong>and</strong> organized National Primary Teachers Games, Mbarara;<br />
Facilitated the Nurses <strong>and</strong> allied Health pr<strong>of</strong>essional games, 2011, Kabale District;<br />
Organized the national Primary Schools Ball Games in Tororo with support from UNICEF;<br />
ESSAPR FY 2011/12 to inform the 19 th ESSR – OCTOBER 2012
