In FY 2011/12 the sub sector achieved the following:<br />

<strong>of</strong> Conduct 2012;<br />
Implemented <strong>and</strong> popularized the Scheme <strong>of</strong> Service at primary level;<br />
Developed an Electronic Databank for teaching personnel in the <strong>Education</strong> Service; <strong>and</strong>,<br />
Provided support to District Service to expedite the recruitment <strong>of</strong> primary school teachers.<br />

Designed <strong>and</strong> disseminated a tool for tracking absenteeism <strong>and</strong> attendance.<br />
Under Secondary <strong>Education</strong>, DES:<br />
Inspected secondary schools on compliance to BRMS;<br />
Carried out follow up inspection;<br />
Licensed <strong>and</strong> registered private schools; <strong>and</strong>,<br />
Engaged the local communities.<br />
Under BTVET, DES<br />
Inspected 550 BTVET institutions.<br />
Under Teacher <strong>Education</strong>/Higher <strong>Education</strong> SubSector, DES:<br />
Assessed the effectiveness <strong>of</strong> CCTs in supporting primary school teachers.<br />
Assessedthe level <strong>of</strong> institutional management, adequacy <strong>of</strong> infrastructure <strong>and</strong> level <strong>of</strong> tutor<br />
preparation to teach in PTCs<br />
Evaluated CCTs performance.<br />
