(e) Five (5) papers will be presented <strong>and</strong> these include:<br />

i. Strategies to improve pr<strong>of</strong>iciency in numeracy <strong>and</strong> literacy at primary level;<br />

ii. Strategies to improve the performance in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry <strong>and</strong><br />

biology at secondary level;<br />

iii. Priority areas in the BTVET Strategic Plan to be focused upon;<br />

iv. Developing a skilled <strong>and</strong> capable workforce at tertiary level required for economic<br />

growth in Ug<strong>and</strong>a;<br />

v. Strategies to enhance the teaching <strong>of</strong> Physical <strong>Education</strong> <strong>and</strong> participation in sports<br />

at all levels <strong>of</strong> education.<br />

(f) Five knowledgeable <strong>and</strong> competent individuals will be identified to present the papers<br />

in (e) above.<br />

(g) There will be an awards ceremony to recognize the best performing QEI <strong>and</strong> Crown<br />

projects districts in FY 2011/12.<br />

5.3 Post­ESSR Workshop activities<br />

The following are the Review Activities that will be undertaken by C/EPPPA:<br />

(a) Final editing & formatting <strong>of</strong> the Aide Memoire;<br />

(b) Printing <strong>of</strong> the Aide Memoire;<br />

(c) Dissemination <strong>of</strong> the Aide Memoire within four weeks after the workshop.<br />

(d) Extraction <strong>of</strong> actionable issues contained in the Aide Memoire for follow up;<br />

(e) Communication <strong>of</strong> agreed positions relevant to respective departments <strong>and</strong><br />

institutions for implementation; <strong>and</strong>,<br />

(f) Monitoring <strong>of</strong> the implementation <strong>of</strong> undertakings.<br />

6.0 Outputs<br />

The expected outputs <strong>of</strong> the Review will include the following:<br />

A paper on Agreed Positions from the Joint Monitoring Exercise on <strong>Education</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Sports</strong><br />

Sector.<br />
