SMCs in the QEI districts have been equipped<br />

with knowledge <strong>and</strong> skills to execute their<br />

roles through training workshops<br />

The <strong>Education</strong> Sector effectively participates<br />

in the Public awareness campaigns (i.e.<br />

Barazas) that were launched by the Office <strong>of</strong><br />

the Prime Minister in December 2009.<br />

These are aimed at improving public<br />

knowledge, attitude <strong>and</strong> behavior towards<br />

social accountability.<br />

10 The Quality <strong>Education</strong> Initiative (QEI) is implemented in 12 worse <strong>of</strong>f districts in education service delivery <strong>and</strong> these are: Amuru, Arua, Bududa, Bukedea, Bulisa, Kaabong,<br />

Kyenjojo, Lyantonde, Mubende, Nakapiripirit, Nebbi, <strong>and</strong> Oyam Districts.<br />

11 Teacher’s time at task is measured by teacher presence against the school time table; <strong>and</strong> head teacher presence at school. The baseline indicators will be available for 2008/09<br />

based on 12 districts.<br />
