Progress <strong>and</strong> Main Achievements<br />

Enroll students<br />

In FY 2011/12 the subsector enrolled 16,239 pre­service <strong>and</strong> 2,000 in­service PTE students in PTCs;<br />

2,000 Non­Formal education students; 4,000 Secondary Teacher <strong>Education</strong> students in NTCs; 360<br />

Technical Instructors in Instructors Colleges <strong>and</strong> 80 students in Mulago Health Tutors College; Train<br />

240 headteachers <strong>and</strong> 240 deputies rom Gulu, Pader, Amolator <strong>and</strong> Apac districts in performance<br />

management.<br />

Pay Capitation Grants <strong>and</strong> Allowances<br />

In order to increase access in FY 2011/12 the subsector paid capitation grants for 3751 pre ­service STE<br />

students, 81 health tutors at Mulago health tutors' college; 1,175 students enrolled in Abilonino CIPIC<br />

for six months; 45 PTCs to facilitate 19,990 Pre­service students.<br />

In addition, the subsector paid subvention ,industrial training ,examination fees <strong>and</strong> living out<br />

allowances for 3,751 students in Kabale, Kaliro, Mubende, Muni <strong>and</strong> Unyama NTCs <strong>and</strong> salaries <strong>and</strong><br />

allowances for 219 staff for nine months;<br />

Furthermore, the subsector also paid allowances for 113 administrators <strong>and</strong> 539 CCTs. 80 Health<br />

Tutors <strong>and</strong> 175 IT student teachers to support them in school practice for 3 months.<br />
