Secondary systems are an intelligent
way to illuminate different areas of
the room, which require different
illumination characteristics.
Secondary luminaires have a primary
reflector (to shield direct view of the
lamp) and a larger secondary
reflector.
The light is not cast straight into the
room; it is directed by a reflector
below the lamp onto a secondary
reflector mounted above the lamp.
The very high intrinsic brightness of
modern discharge lamps is thus
reduced and disturbing reflections are
avoided e.g. the SiLUNA secondary
luminaire. A special form of
secondary luminaire, is the SiNARIO
secondary reflector system. This is
based on our patented secondary
mirror reflector technique, with a
special spotlight and a light
distribution mirror.
In contrast to “real” secondary
luminaires with this system not only
the light density is reduced but also
the light beam is split up in many
small points, producing very little
glare. The high flexibility of our
secondary luminaires and our
secondary reflector systems with their
large range of mirrors allows nearly
unlimited possibilities to suit all
requirements. Secondary or
secondary reflector luminaires are
ideal where pleasant ambient lighting
effects are required: in lecture halls
as well as offices, in hotel foyers, in
therapy areas and museums.
