Recessed downlights with sophisticated light control
HIGHLIGHT downlights have a unique highly advanced lighting
technology, developed by the renowned designer Bartenbach.
The optical system is based on the use of a very high intensive
point light source such as a metal halide lamp or a low voltage
halogen lamp. HIGHLIGHT luminaires are ideally suited for use in
architectural illumination as well as in general illumination and
to target specific areas in rooms to achieve unique effects.
The illumination of VDU work areas places special demands on
the lighting performance of the luminaire. A low glare factor
limit according to BAP60/Cat.2 can usually only be achieved with
luminaires which use fluorescent tubes. A soft and low glare
light is achieved due to a special secondary technique optical
reflector system. The secondary beam system achieves, despite
its use of a point light source, a unique and soft light
distribution.
With the double parabolic beam system special effects can be
achieved on horizontal areas. These characteristics are due to the
concentric areas of different light intensity.
The parallel beam system produces a narrow light cylinder with
its parabolic shaped reflector. The resultant lighting effect of the
luminaire is well suited to achieve accents in a room.
Often the demand on a modern luminaire system is to achieve a
high illumination level in the rooms and for the luminaires not
to have too dominant a presence.
The ideal solution to achieve this is the focus beam system. On
the basis of an elliptical reflector in combination with a special
lens system, it is possible to have a large amount of light pass
through a small aperture in the ceiling. This will achieve an even
distribution and soft lighting. The system is ideally suited for
rooms with high ceilings.
For general illumination in representative areas the elliptical
light system is used. Due to the installation of a prismatic disc, a
very decorative illumination of the ceiling is achieved with soft
light edges.
