The design brief
The customer area of the new
Deutsche Bank branches
should be lit by a
directionally neutral and
energy-saving luminaire. The
lighting should create a
pleasant and more controlled
environment, memorable but
nevertheless discreet.
Because of the proliferance of
modern communication
appliances, it will be
necessary to use reflection
and glare free luminaires.
The solution concept
A round recessed luminaire
was designed based on the
new T5 circular lamps with a
diameter of 300mm, which
create a soft and balanced
light in the room by the glare
free reflector technology. A
translucent centre unit gives
the luminaire a distinctive
presence. Behind the
perforated centre section a
low volt halogen downlight
can be installed with the
same appearance, which
gives additional illumination
within the room. In addition,
this enables different moods
to be created, possibly even
time controlled.
