The micro solar protection uses the
reflection properties of a special
form of reflective surface. The
micro sun shielding louvres, which
are coated with ultra pure
aluminium are optical elements
which will be protected by a
double glazing panel from exterior
influences like dust or moisture.
The individual louvre elements
(250 mm x 200 mm) are joined
together to create larger units and
sized for individual situations.
The louvre is coated with
aluminium then immediately fixed
to the double glazing panel to
protect it.
The system integrates
imperceptibly because of the
double glazing into the total
architecture of the building. It
conserves the dynamic natural
daylight and guides it into the
interior of the building.
Principle
The micro sun shielding louvre is a
solar protection system with a
transmission characteristic
depending on the direction. The
exact performance of the louvre is
determined by its very carefully
designed reflective surfaces. When
the micro sun shielding louvre is
built it is effectively closed to the
south, so that the direct sunshine
from the south will be reflected
back to the outside. The louvre
apertures are towards the north;
the intensive zenith light and the
diffuse incident daylight from all
other directions reach almost
unhindered into the interior.
The micro solar protection louvre reflects the unwanted direct light from the wrong direction
(here : red) and lets the remaining diffuse light (here : white) through.
