Release Information <strong>Command</strong> introduced in <strong>Junos</strong> <strong>OS</strong> Release 9.1.<br />

Description On M320, MX Series, T320, and T640 routers, check the reachability of a remote IEEE<br />

Required Privilege<br />

802.1ag OAM maintenance association end point (MEP) or maintenance association<br />

intermediate point (MIP). Type Ctrl+c to interrupt a ping ethernet command.<br />

Options mac-address—Send loopback protocol messages to the MEP with the specified Ethernet<br />

Level<br />

MAC address.<br />

maintenance-association ma-name—Send loopback protocol messages to the MEP for<br />

the specified maintenance association.<br />

maintenance-domain md-name—Send loopback protocol messages to the MEP for the<br />

specified maintenance domain.<br />

count count—(Optional) Number of ping requests to send. The range of values is from 1<br />

through 65,535. If the count is not specified 4 loopback messages are sent. Terminate<br />

the ping command by typing Ctrl+c.<br />

size bytes—(Optional) The length, in bytes, of the data type, length, and value (TLV) sent<br />

in the loopback message. The range of values is from 1 through 1400. The default is<br />

64 bytes.<br />

wait seconds—(Optional) Maximum wait time, in seconds, to send the next loopback<br />

network<br />

Field Description<br />

The MAC address of the remote MEP or MIP to which the request message packets are being sent.<br />

The local Ethernet interface from which the request message packets are being sent.<br />

For each loopback message response received, display the number of TLV bytes, the MAC address<br />

of the remote MEP or MIP, and the sequence number.<br />
