Field Description<br />

SONET virtual-tributary (VT) alarms and defects:<br />

• Seconds—Number of seconds the defect has been active.<br />

• Count—Number of times that the defect has gone from inactive to active.<br />

• State—State of the error. State other than OK indicates a problem.<br />

Subfields are:<br />

• BIP-B2—Bit interleaved parity for SONET line overhead<br />

• REI-V—Remote error indication (near-end VT)<br />

• LOP-V—Loss of pointer (near-end VT)<br />

• AIS-V—Alarm indication signal (near-end VT)<br />

• RDI-V—Remote defect indication (near-end VT)<br />

• UNEQ-V—Unequipped (near-end VT)<br />

• PLM-V—Payload label mismatch (near-end VT)<br />

• ES-V—Errored seconds (near-end VT)<br />

• SES-V—Severely errored seconds (near-end VT)<br />

• UAS-V—Unavailable seconds (near-end VT)<br />

• ES-VFE—Errored seconds (far-end VT)<br />

• SES-VFE—Severely errored seconds (far-end VT)<br />

• UAS-VFE—Unavailable seconds (far-end VT)<br />

Counts of specific SONET errors with detailed information:<br />

• PLL Lock—Phase-locked loop<br />

• PHY Light—Loss of optical signal<br />

• State—State of the error. State other than OK indicates a problem.<br />
