Emilio Jéquier, la construcción de un patrimonio
En el marco de las celebraciones de su 140° aniversario, el Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, con el auspicio de LarrainVial y el patrocinio de la Corporación Patrimonio Cultural de Chile, se impulsó la edición del libro Emilio Jéquier: la construcción de un patrimonio, que rescata por primera vez la obra, la figura y el pensamiento del autor del edificio en el cual se emplaza este Museo, el Palacio de Bellas Artes, inaugurado en 1880.

departure to France.

In Paris he works with
Prosper Bobin, on
the project for the
Palais de l’Optique, a
pavilion built for the
1900 Exhibition.

Travels to Europe
to oversee the
commission of the
metallic structures
for the works under
construction: the
vault of the Museum
of Fine Arts and the
Mapocho and Pirque
stations.

Returns definitively
to France with
his family.

Moves to Asnieres
sur Seine.
1937
Designs and builds
a mausoleum in
Tangier, Morocco,
for his nephew Jean
Henri Louis Jéquier.
1949
Jules-Émile
Jéquier dies in
Asnières sur Seine,
near Paris.
1889
Chile participates in
the Universal Exhibition
of Paris and later the
Chilean pavilion is
brought to Chile and
assembled in the Quinta
Normal. Today houses the
Artequín Museum.
1900
The Petit and Grand Palais
are inaugurated, built for
the Universal Exhibition
of Paris.

The Paris Metro is
inaugurated. The Art
Nouveau style stations
were designed by
Hector Guimard.
