CHAPITRE 3
Espaces vectoriels normés
1. Définitions générales.
Définition 3.1. Soit E un espace vectoriel une norme sur E est une application :
E −→ R + , x → x telle que
1) x = 0 ⇐⇒ x = 0,
2) x + y ≤ x + y inégalité triangulaire,
3) pour tout λ ∈ R, on a λx = |λ|x.
L’espace (E, ) est appelé espace vectoriel normé.
Exemples 3.1. I) Sur R n , n ∈ N, on peut définir des normes par (pour x = (x1, · · · , xn)) :
Montrons, par exemple, que
c’est à dire
Or on a
Ainsi on a
• x1 = |x1| + · · · + |xn|,
• x2 = |x1| 2 + · · · + |xn| 2 , norme euclidienne
• x∞ = max{|x1|, · · · , |xn|}.
x + y2 ≤ x2 + y2,
|x1 + y2| 2 + · · · + |xn + yn| 2 = |x1| 2 + · · · + |xn| 2
+|y1| 2 + · · · + |yn| 2
+2(x1y1 + · · · + xnyn)
(x 2 1 + · · · + x 2 n)(y 2 1 + · · · + y 2 n) − (x1y1 + · · · + xnyn) 2
