Selecionamos quatro histórias de Turma daMônica, de Maurício de Souza e, na análise, constatamos que a causa do riso nessashistórias segue também algumas leis apresentadas pelo filósofo em questão, taiscomo o homem ri daquilo que é humano ou representa o humano; para que o risoaconteça, é necessário fazer uso de nossa inteligência, sem nos deixar levar pela emoção;o riso coletivo torna-se riso de correção, capaz de corrigir alguma imperfeiçãoindividual ou coletiva.Palavras-chave: Henri Bérgson. Leitura. Riso. Turma da Mônica.AbstractIn this work, we tackle the question of laughter in comic strips for children. We willadopt some assumptions of the French philosopher Henri Bergson (2007) on laughterand comedy, and from them, realizing the cause of laughter in comic books and whatthey mean. We selected four comic strips of Monica’s Gang, written by Maurício deSouza, and in the analysis, we found that the cause of laughter in these stories alsofollow some laws presented by the philosopher in question, such as the man laughswhat is human or represents the human; that laughter happens is necessary to makeuse of our intelligence and not being carried away by emotion; the laughter becomesthe collective laughter of correction that can correct any imperfection individual orcollective.Key words: Henri Bergson.
