Inthe case of one-day, weekend andone-week intensive seminars aswellas regular evening classes with fewerthan 10, aderegistration isonly possibleuptooneweek in advance,inthecase of courses offered in the section“Creative Design”, aderegistration isonly possible up to tendaysbeforethecourse starts (please note the specificdeadlines announced in the courseprogramme).Inthe case of so-called“Bildungsurlaube” (one-week seminarsfor participants entitled toeducationalleave), a deregistration canonly be accepted uptoafortnight beforethe class starts. Deregistration atalater date does not relieve the participantof their obligation topay thefee unless the Volkshochschule is accountablefor the reasons for deregistration.The registration fee of €6.10must be paid regardless.Notifying the instructor does not constitutea formal deregistration fromthe course and will not be accepted.Not attending class is also an invalidmethod to deregister from acourse.Irregular participation ordropping outof class still require that participantspay the entire course fee.If someone deregisters from acoursein writing to the Volkshochschule indue time, if aregistration for acoursemust rejected or if acourse must becancelled, the Volkshochschule willnot charge any fees and fees alreadywithdrawn will be refunded respectively.The deregistration from and refundingof fees for field trips and excursionsare subject tospecial regulations (seeGeneral Terms and Conditions forField Trips and Excursions).Data protection:The Volkshochschule collects andworks with personal information inorder tofulfil task in accordance withstatutory and financial regulations.The legal basis for these tasks areparagraphs 12 and 13ofthe DatenschutzgesetzNRW (Data Protection ActNorth-Rhine Westphalia).Course registration can only beprocessediffirst and last name and completeaddress are provided.Answers to all other questions arevoluntary. It is important to provideatelephone number in case acoursesession must be cancelled and participantsneed tobeinformed bytheVolkshochschule. The data is processedand stored electronicallyandwill be made anonymous when passedon to third parties.Certificate of attendance:Upon request, the Volkshochschuleandthe differentdepartments respectivelyissue certificates of attendancefor courses which took place duringthe last ten years. To be entitled tosuch a certificate, participants mustfulfil the following requirements: fullpayment of the course fee as well asregular participation inthe course (atleast 80percent).House rules:The house rules for each of the venuesused bythe Volkshochschule arebinding for all participants. The Volkshochschulewould particularly like toask participants torefrain from smokingonthe premises and inclassroomsand keep the rooms clean.Parking spaces atthe venues are onlyto be used during attendance of thecourse! Please take into account thatparking spaces are limited and thuscannot be guaranteed.Liability:The City ofBonn cannot be held liablefor any damage to persons or propertythat occurs during participationin courses atthe Volkshochschule unlessit is due togross negligence onthe part ofmunicipal employees.230
