The Catalan equivalent of 0 is not well-formed:<br />

(134) ?*Consi<strong>de</strong>ro en Joan estúpid ell mateix<br />

I-consi<strong>de</strong>r the J. stupid he SELF<br />

In fact, Small Clauses are not Null-Subject structures even in NSLs like Catalan, so the<br />

prediction would be that they should not have [-anaphoric] I-subjects. They do not have<br />

[+anaphoric] I-subjects either:<br />

(135) **Consi<strong>de</strong>ro en Joan estúpid (si) mateix<br />

I-consi<strong>de</strong>r the J. stupid (SE) SELF<br />

I leave the issue open.<br />
