ITALY - 4 Wastewater
C4.3.1.12. Effluent samples shall be collected immediately prior to the point of discharge
(e.g., within the discharge pipe, just before the effluent is discharged to the receiving water body)
or to the public sewer system. Influent samples shall be collected at a point immediately
upgradient of the wastewater treatment system. The number of nonconforming samples allowed
for BOD5, COD, and TSS for urban wastewater is given in Table 4.3.
C4.3.1.13. Recordkeeping Requirements. The following monitoring and record-keeping
requirements are BMPs and apply to all facilities. Retain records for three years.
C4.3.1.13.1. The effluent, concentration, or other measurement specified for
each regulated parameter.
C4.3.1.13.2. The daily volume of effluent discharge from each point source.
C4.3.1.13.2.1. In addition, treatment plants in the Tuscany Region with
plant capacity > 100 IE for industrial wastewater discharges or 2000 IE in case of urban
wastewater require a flow meter that continuously records the outflow rate.
C4.3.1.13.3. Test procedures for the analysis of pollutants.
C4.3.1.13.4. The date, exact place, and time of sampling and/or measurements.
C4.3.1.13.5. The name of the person who performed the sampling and/or
measurements.
C4.3.1.13.6. The date of analysis.
C4.3.2. Effluent Limitations For Non-Categorical Industrial Discharges
C4.3.2.1. Effluent Limits. The following effluent limits will apply to all discharges of
pollutants to wastewater treatment plants and associated collection systems from process
wastewater for which categorical standards have not been established (see subparagraphs
C4.3.3.1.8., C4.3.3.1.9., C4.3.3.1.10., and C4.3.3.1.11 for a list of categorical standards).
C4.3.2.2. The discharge to a DoD-operated wastewater treatment plant or a municipal
sewer system of any type of waste (solid, liquid, or gaseous) classified as such based on the
criteria established in Chapter 6, “Hazardous Waste” or Chapter 7, “Solid Waste,” except
wastewater, is prohibited, even if the waste has been passed through a grinder. The only
exception is made for organic food wastes treated by means of a food waste disposal grinder,
under the condition that the manager of the public sewer implements a wastewater treatment
system.
C4.3.2.2.1. Solid or Viscous Pollutants. The discharge of solid or viscous
pollutants that would result in an obstruction to the domestic wastewater treatment plant flow is
prohibited.
C4.3.2.2.2. Ignitability and Explosivity
