<strong>ITALY</strong> - 11 Pesticides<br />

pesticides, the precautionary messages and use instructions will be in English and Italian.<br />

Pesticides classified as hazardous chemicals shall be labeled in accordance with C5.3.7.<br />

C11.3.10. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) and labels for all pesticides will be<br />

available at the storage and holding facility. MSDSs for pesticides classified as hazardous<br />

chemicals shall meet the requirements of C5.3.5. and shall be maintained in accordance with<br />

C5.3.6.<br />

C11.3.11. Pesticide storage areas will contain a readily-visible current inventory of all items<br />

in storage and should be regularly inspected and secured to prevent unauthorized access.<br />

Pesticide derived waste awaiting disposal shall be stored and labeled in accordance with Chapter<br />

6, “Hazardous Waste,” and either segregated from pesticide products or transferred to a waste<br />

accumulation point or storage area (see Chapter 6).<br />

C11.3.12. Unless otherwise restricted or canceled, pesticides in excess of installation needs<br />

will be redistributed within the supply system or disposed of in accordance with procedures<br />

outlined below:<br />

C11.3.12.1. The generator of pesticide wastes will determine whether or not the waste<br />

is hazardous, in accordance with Chapter 6, “Hazardous Waste.”<br />

C11.3.12.2. Pesticide waste determined to be hazardous waste will be disposed of in<br />

accordance with the criteria for hazardous waste disposal in Chapter 6, “Hazardous Waste.”<br />

C11.3.12.3. Pesticide waste that is determined not to be a hazardous waste will be<br />

disposed of in accordance with the label instructions, through DLA Disposition Services. Empty<br />

pesticide containers shall not be reused.<br />
