(1) For watercourses, the maximum variation from the average temperature of any section upstream or downstream
of the discharge point shall not exceed 3°C. On at least half of any downstream section of the discharge point,
the variation shall not exceed 1°C.
For lakes, the discharge temperature shall not exceed 30°C, while the temperature increase of the receiving
water body shall not exceed 3°C at a distance of 50 meters from the discharge point.
For artificial canals, the maximum average value of water temperature in any section shall not exceed 35°C.
This condition is subject to the approval of the canals’ administrator.
For sea and outlet zones of non-significant streams, the discharge temperature shall not exceed 35°C, and the
temperature increase of the receiving water body shall not exceed 3°C at a distance of 1,000 meters from the
discharge point. The environmental compatibility of the discharge with the receiving body shall be ensured, and
the formation of thermal barriers shall be avoided at river outlets.
