(1) For watercourses, the maximum variation from the average temperature of any section upstream or downstream<br />

of the discharge point shall not exceed 3°C. On at least half of any downstream section of the discharge point,<br />

the variation shall not exceed 1°C.<br />

For lakes, the discharge temperature shall not exceed 30°C, while the temperature increase of the receiving<br />

water body shall not exceed 3°C at a distance of 50 meters from the discharge point.<br />

For artificial canals, the maximum average value of water temperature in any section shall not exceed 35°C.<br />

This condition is subject to the approval of the canals’ administrator.<br />

For sea and outlet zones of non-significant streams, the discharge temperature shall not exceed 35°C, and the<br />

temperature increase of the receiving water body shall not exceed 3°C at a distance of 1,000 meters from the<br />

discharge point. The environmental compatibility of the discharge with the receiving body shall be ensured, and<br />

the formation of thermal barriers shall be avoided at river outlets.<br />
