hazardous waste whose leachate meets established standards, waste containing or contaminated
with PCB in concentration lower than 50 ppm, waste containing or contaminated with dioxins
and/or furans in concentration lower than 10 ppb, waste whose Total Organic Compounds
concentration for reactive substances is lower than 5%).
C7.2.18. Leachate. Any liquid percolating through the deposited waste and emitted from
or contained within a landfill.
C7.2.19. Medical Waste. A sub-category of special waste. Medical waste is a waste
Municipal authorities to be urban waste.
from medical facilities:
C7.2.21.1. Wastes produced from kitchens during the preparation of meals,
C7.2.21.2. Wastes from catering activities and food residues, excluding those from
food residues from departments with infectious patients; wastes from medications; biological
C7.2.22. Non-hazardous Waste. Any waste that is not identified as hazardous by the
USEUCOM Waste List, or through analysis as per Appendix B.1. The re-classification of
hazardous waste to non-hazardous waste cannot be obtained by dilution or mixing with
substances resulting in a reduction of the initial concentration of hazardous substances.
C7.2.23. Open Burning. Burning of solid wastes in the open, such as in an open dump.
