The contents of an emergency plan have been<br />

discussed in Chapter 5.<br />

As a completed fi re risk assessment is more than<br />

likely <strong>to</strong> incorporate a plan of the premises, it is also<br />

strongly recommended for larger more complex buildings<br />

that the emergency plan also incorporates a similar plan<br />

of the premises, which will provide information on key fi re<br />

safety elements and systems within the building.<br />

When produced this plan may also form a key<br />

component of the information that may be provided <strong>to</strong><br />

the emergency services on arrival at a fi re incident.<br />

1. (a) Explain, using an example, the meaning of<br />

the term ‘fi re risk’. (2)<br />

(b) Outline the key stages of an assessment of<br />

fi re risk. (6)<br />
