Although Albertans are satisfied with how <strong>gambl<strong>in</strong>g</strong> proceeds are used and how <strong>gambl<strong>in</strong>g</strong> is<br />

managed, this does not translate <strong>in</strong>to general support for <strong>gambl<strong>in</strong>g</strong>. Rather, the 2008 and 2009<br />

surveys show that most Albertans have a negative view <strong>of</strong> <strong>gambl<strong>in</strong>g</strong>, with the majority<br />

<strong>in</strong>dicat<strong>in</strong>g that the harm <strong>of</strong> <strong>gambl<strong>in</strong>g</strong> outweighed the benefits (Figure 36).<br />

On the other hand, only a m<strong>in</strong>ority <strong>of</strong> people <strong>in</strong> 2008/2009 believe that <strong>gambl<strong>in</strong>g</strong> itself is<br />

morally wrong (Figure 37), a percentage that is almost certa<strong>in</strong>ly lower than historical op<strong>in</strong>ions<br />
