This project owes its success to many people. Several agencies provided us with essential data.<br />

In particular, we would like to thank the Alberta Gam<strong>in</strong>g and Liquor Commission (AGLC), the<br />

Alberta Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Commission (AADAC), Alberta Health <strong>Services</strong>, the Office <strong>of</strong><br />

the Chief Medical Exam<strong>in</strong>er, the Medic<strong>in</strong>e Hat Police <strong>Services</strong>, and the <strong>Lethbridge</strong> Regional<br />

Consumer Contact, with corporate <strong>of</strong>fices <strong>in</strong> Toronto, Ontario, conducted both the 2008 and<br />

2009 Alberta Population surveys. A special thanks to Christ<strong>in</strong>e Young who was the Project<br />

Manager for these surveys.<br />

Several <strong>in</strong>dividuals were <strong>in</strong>volved with data collection and/or tabulation. At the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>Lethbridge</strong> this <strong>in</strong>cludes Dr. Ruksana Rashid from the Faculty <strong>of</strong> Health Sciences, as well as<br />

Maryna Skrynska, Montserrat Villanueva, and Jeff Doherty. Additional assistance was received<br />

from L<strong>in</strong>da ManyGuns and Mike Frank from the Department <strong>of</strong> Native American Studies.<br />

Tammie Belanger, Chartered Accountant with Meyers Norris Penny, helped <strong>in</strong> the production <strong>of</strong><br />

spreadsheets and <strong>in</strong> the <strong>in</strong>terpretation <strong>of</strong> f<strong>in</strong>ancial statements. At the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Alberta,<br />

data collection and tabulation <strong>of</strong> certa<strong>in</strong> economic variables was conducted by John Turvey,<br />

Brian Soebb<strong>in</strong>g, Dr. Brad Humphreys, and Dr. Yang Seung Lee from the Department <strong>of</strong><br />

Economics, and Dr. Harold Wynne from Wynne Resources <strong>in</strong> Calmar, Alberta.<br />
