MERIDIAN, BILL<br />

Bill Meridian obtained his master’s degree in business administration in 1972 and<br />

began to study <strong>astrology</strong> in <strong>the</strong> same year. He first began applying computers to financial<br />

<strong>astrology</strong> in 1983, and eventually designed <strong>the</strong> AstroAnalyst. He contributed <strong>the</strong><br />

efficiency test, first-trade charts, composite cycles, and many o<strong>the</strong>r useful tools to AIR<br />

Software’s Market Trader program.<br />

Meridian has authored Planetary Stock Trading and Planetary Economic Forecasting.<br />

His study of <strong>the</strong> effect of <strong>the</strong> lunar cycle on stocks was accepted as part of accreditation<br />

for his CMT designation, a finding confirmed by two studies at <strong>the</strong> University<br />

of Michigan. He currently is a fund manager. In <strong>the</strong> summer of 2002, Meridian’s<br />

Cycles Research service was ranked number two in <strong>the</strong> United States for stock market<br />

timing in <strong>the</strong> previous year by Timer Digest.<br />

MERLIN<br />

Merlin, asteroid 2,598 (<strong>the</strong> 2,598th asteroid to be discovered, on September 7, 1980),<br />

is approximately 16 kilometers in diameter and has an orbital period of 4.6 years. It is<br />

named after Merlin <strong>the</strong> magician. If prominent in a natal chart, Merlin may signify a<br />

person for whom things seem to come toge<strong>the</strong>r “magically” or, in rare instances, someone<br />

who is actually interested in magic. The sign and house position of Merlin in a<br />

natal chart indicates how and where this “magic” manifests.<br />

MERRIMAN, RAYMOND A.<br />

Raymond Merriman is a contemporary astrologer best known for his work in <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>astrology</strong> of <strong>the</strong> stock market. His formal education and training includes a bachelor’s<br />

degree in psychology (Michigan State University, 1969); postgraduate studies in clinical<br />

psychology (Michigan State and University of Michigan, 1969–71); professional<br />

(certified) life member of <strong>the</strong> American Federation of Astrologers (PLMAFA since<br />

1972); commodities trading advisor (CTA, 1982); and series 3 and 7 exams for commodities,<br />

financial futures, securities and investments (1986, 1989).<br />

Currently, Merriman is president of <strong>the</strong> Merriman Market Analyst, Inc., an<br />

investment advisory firm specializing in market timing products and services. He is<br />

<strong>the</strong> editor of <strong>the</strong> MMA Cycles Report, an advisory newsletter issued 17 times a year,<br />
