Expert Library) is a unique institution containing one of the biggest collections of astrologyand
branch-related books in Germany. After World War II, the DAV (Deutscher Astrologen-
Verband; German Astrological Association) reconstituted, and started organizing the library.
During the Nazi regime, astrology had been banned and astrologers persecuted. Only a few
books could be saved and they found their place in the library. Due to personal estates and
donations of authors and publishers, the stock increased gradually. So today, the library contains
rare and out of print books of invaluable worth for astrological work and research. To
maintain this special library, in 1991, the FFA was founded, on the initiative of Ulrike Voltmer,
the former president of the DAV. The following year, the stock doubled: Edith Wangemann,
president of the Kosmobiosophische Gesellschaft, donated parts of her own as well as
the society’s library to the FFA. Thanks to donations of authors, publishers, and friends of the
library, it now contains more than 2,500 books, including English, French, Italian, and Russian
books, as well as journals, calendars, collections, and tables. Linked to the library are instructional
records and records of lectures and radio and TV broadcasts. Part of the duties of the
FFA is acquiring and cataloguing new books and organizing the lending. So, members of the
FFA, DAV, and Kosmobiosophische Gesellschaft can profit by a modern and well-organized
rental library. In addition to this, the FFA organizes periodical lectures on a variety of astrology-related
subjects, held by different speakers from different countries.
