REFRANATION
Refranation is a technical term used in horary
astrology referring to a situation in which a
planet turns retrograde (reverses its apparent
motion) before it completes an aspect to which
it has been applying. In such a situation, the
matter for which the horary chart was cast will
not result in a successful conclusion.
REGIOMONTANUS
(JOHANN MÜLLER)
Regiomontanus (born Johann Müller), a
German astronomer and astrologer, was born on
June 6, 1436, in Königsberg, Germany. He
established an observatory at Nuremberg, where
he observed Halley’s comet. Regiomontanus
also published ephemerides (tables of planetary

Regiomontanus was also the translator of
Ptolemy’s Almagest. He died in Rome on July 6, 1476. He is best remembered by
astrologers for the system of house division that bears his name.
REGIOMONTANUS SYSTEM
The Regiomontanus (Regiomontanean) system is a system of house division
devised by Johann Müller (Regiomontanus was his pseudonym) in the fifteenth century.
At one time it was the most popular sysem in Europe.
REINCARNATION, KARMA, AND ASTROLOGY
Reincarnation is the theory that each individual soul progressively incarnates
in a succession of different bodies. Belief in reincarnation usually carries with it certain
